The Girl with the Sunshine Smile

I’ve known PatSed since we were Prep students- that would be around 11 years ago. She and Sam were my first friends in STC. Back then, we would play in the school grounds and giggle like the Catholic school girls that we were. Little did we know that our friendship would last longer than we ever thought it would. Then again, we never had such thoughts when we were young.
Ever since we became friends, I’ve somehow known that this girl, with her bright eyes and warm smile, would be destined for something great. She had this knack of making everyone feel at ease when they were with her. She would always find joy in the simplest of things. She wasn’t quick to judge, but she never failed to express herself. She was born a lot of things- singer, dancer, swimmer, leader. Yet even with her busy schedule, she’d be able to make time for her family and friends. To me, and perhaps to many other people, PatSed was Wonder Girl.
It’s been two days since the news came out. I still find it hard to believe that this amazing girl who had so much to offer to the world can no longer be a part of it. It’s not my place to say what happened was unfair. I just wish I had another chance to be with her, to show her how much her friendship meant to me. I wish more people knew her so that they’d know what it feels to have her as a sister. And I wish I’d stop crying ‘cause I know she’s in a much better place with the ones she loves the most…We pray for Patty and the rest of the Sedilla family. We love you and we always will.
